Book Buddies - Friends of the Viola Public Library District

In 2008, the Book Buddies formed as a community organization to support and focus public attention on the library by:

  • serving as goodwill ambassadors in representation to the community;
  • stimulate use of the library’s resources and services;
  • receive and encourage gifts, endowments and bequests;
  • support and cooperate with the library in developing library services and facilities for the community;
  • lend legislative support where needed;
  • support the Freedom To Read and the Freedom To View as expressed in the American Library Association Bill of Rights.

The Book Buddies is a non-profit organization open to everyone regardless of gender, race, religion, disability, age or place of residence.  The Book Buddies operate as a separate entity under the umbrella of the Library and does not involve itself in Library policy.

Your tax deductible donation to Book Buddies “in memory of” or “in honor of” your loved ones and friends is always appreciated.  Please mail contributions to: Book Buddies, c/o Viola Public Library District, PO Box 479, Viola, IL 61486

Many companies double or triple an employee’s gifts to charitable organizations.  Ask your human resource office for details and the necessary forms.
